The Ascension Of Jesus.

The Ascension of Jesus.

The ascension of Jesus means that Jesus physically ascended up to heaven before the remaining eleven disciples on the Mount of Olives.

The ascension is very important to the Christian's faith, because it is proof that Jesus is God and that He was not limited to living only on earth.

Where Can I Find This Story in The Bible?

The story of Jesus' ascension can be found in the following Scriptures: Mark 16:19, Luke 24:50-53 and Acts 1:9.

Jesus' Ascension took place upon the Mount of Olives according to Luke 19:29

What Took Place Before The Ascension of Jesus?

Before Jesus ascended however, he was among His disciples for forty days, teaching them about the Kingdom of God. Acts 1:3.

The Lord instructed them that they should not leave Jerusalem until they receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. He told them that they would receive power after the Holy Ghost came upon them and they would be witnesses unto Him everywhere they went. Acts 1:4-8

A Study On The life of Jesus will open your understanding and provide the perfect example of what the Christian lifestyle is, so that you can apply it's teachings on a daily basis.

Jesus appeared to His disciples several times after His resurrection.

The first person He appeared to was Mary Magdalene in Jerusalem. Matthew 28:9-10, Mark 16:9 and John 20:14-17.

Next Jesus Christ appeared to two of His disciples on the road to Emmaus. When He appeared to them He disguised Himself and they did not know that it was Him and when He enquired about what the people were saying about Him, they told Him every word. Luke 24:12-32.

He later appeared to Simon in Luke 24:34.

On the evening of the first day of the week, He appeared unto His disciples excluding Thomas, who when the others told him about the visit of Christ, said that he would not believe unless he sees Him with his eyes and touch the print of the nail in His hands. John 20:19-25

Eight days later Jesus appeared to Thomas and told him to stretch his hand and examine the nail print in His hand and the cuts in His side. When He showed Thomas the cuts then he begun to believe.

However, Jesus said unto him: "Thomas because you see you believe, blessed are those who do not see and yet they believe." John 20:26-29.

When you read about the life of Jesus in the Gospels, do you believe them or are you just wasting your time reading something that you don't believe?

A Few Moments Before The Ascension of Jesus.

Just before the ascension of Jesus, He appeared unto the eleven, (because remember Judas had hanged himself after betraying Jesus Christ) telling them to go and make more disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Matthew 28:16-20

The ascension was a demonstration that His time on earth was ended. Everything that happened in the life of Jesus was as a result of many prophecies in the Old Testament Scriptures.

From His Divine conception in the womb of Mary to His ascension up into glory, were perfectly planned out by God and no stones were left unturned.

While He was with His disciples He told them that He had to go and prepare a place for them, so that where He is we can also come and be with Him because this is not our final home. John 14:3
