Everyone should make a choice between the two: fear or faith.
The two doesn't go together. Hebrews 11 :1 said faith is certainty in the things that we don't see.
We serve an omnipotent GOD and we have faith that HE is working constantly behind the scene upon the desires of our heart according to His will.
However, fear is simply unbelief in the power of GOD. When we allow unbelief to have the upper hand in our lives, our emotions will be controlled by fear.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Faith is a gift from GOD, it is not something that we created ourselves.
Faithfulness however, is defined as the characteristics we produce through the power of the Holy Ghost.
We cannot be faithful without the help of the LORD.
For our faith to grow and keep growing, we must frequently study the Word of GOD. The question of fear or faith will come up less when we feast upon the Word of GOD.
The Bible is a faith based book, and when we study it, fear has no opportunity for growth.
When we study our Bibles, we learn more about GOD and the more knowledge we have about HIM, the less we fear and the stronger our faith becomes.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The Word of GOD is powerful and very swift in pointing us in the right direction. So we are not to only read the Word, it is also necessary that we hear the preaching of the Word.
The preaching and teaching of the Scriptures; establishes our faith and keeps us faithful in the things of the LORD.
The reason why God gave us His Word, is because He wants us to learn about Him so we can be more like Him.
If we continue to grow in faith, the power of fear will reduce to naught.
When we make it a habit to daily meditate, listen and read the Scriptures, we will have the experience of a strong uncompromised faith, and fear will have to flee.
When we spend time praying to the LORD, and stop fussing about our troubles, we shift the atmosphere from spiritual attacks to divine intervention.
Prayer is a powerful weapon, because it provides us the opportunity to communicate with our Creator and get His attention for help and support in our daily lives.
When we pray, faith is strengthened and the spirit of fear gets weak and flees.
The Psalmist David said whenever he becomes fearful, he puts his trust in the LORD his GOD.
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
No matter how scary your situation gets, you can follow the example of David, and put your trust in the LORD.
When we look at Psalm 119, we read about the deep expressions of love and gratitude which David had toward GOD'S Word.
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
We need to hide the Word of God in our hearts, and prayerfully seek the face of the LORD for direction whenever the question of fear or faith arise.
Our GOD is loving, caring and kind. He understands our weaknesses, however, His requirement is that we continue to move forward in faith, because His Word made it clear that faith cannot mature and become strengthened without trials.
Thanks for reading.
God bless you.
