Forgive them even when they are not sorry. We should not be angry at people for doing the wrong thing. Because they are ignorant, and have no idea that it's the devil using them.
Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. And they divided His garments and cast lots.
The most celebrated text on forgiveness is when Jesus prayed from the cross and asked forgiveness for HIS tormentors.
This prayer is quoted as the moment of unconditional Christian forgiveness, and we as believers should seek also to "forgive them."
When we choose not to forgive them, we are introducing evil spirits such as: anger, hatred, bitterness and jealousy into our lives.
There are certain emotional pains that are associated with being hurt, so it is really important that we forgive and forget. Learn to take responsibility by forgiving them, and set yourself free from bitterness and anger which affect your relationship with the LORD.
If we don't forgive them, we are being disobedient to the LORD.
Then Peter came to Him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?
Jesus said to him, I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
Peter thought seven times would be enough to forgive his brother, but JESUS multiplied it by seventy. So even though they were wrong and acted like they weren't, JESUS said to forgive them.
Every other sins and blasphemy will be forgiven except the sin of blasphemy against the HOLY GHOST.
He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.
Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
This text speaks of the sin which is referred to as eternal sin, unforgivable sin and ultimate sin. To speak evil of the HOLY GHOST is to make God your enemy. Be careful what you say against the HOLY GHOST.
Pride is not the kind of spirit for the believer. It is called the deadliest sin. Pride will make us unwilling to forgive our brothers and sisters when they are wrong.
The spirit of pride, If left unattended, will destroy our relationships with the LORD.
For the day of the Lord of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up, and it shall be brought low.
The LORD hates a proud spirit. Because such a spirit can never bring glory to HIM. The proud person will not obey GOD'S Word, and will seek revenge rather seek to forgive them.
Therefore the LORD of hosts will brought low every proud spirits, because they serve not the LORD, they serve the devil.
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:
God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.
We should humble ourselves under the mighty hand of the LORD, because GOD resists the proud.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Be humble, and forgive them when they sin against you. Because you are not here to please people. You are serving the LORD your GOD, and HE will reward you for being obedient.
God bless you.
