The good fight has nothing to do with your own strength or might. It has nothing to do with guns and knives. When the Bible mentions "the good fight," it associated it with faith.
Faith is real hard work and not many persons can attain it. Faith is a spiritual fight which we all must deal with as Christians. The LORD made it clear that without faith it is impossible to please Him.
1 Timothy 6:11&12
But thou, o man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and has professed a good profession before many witness.
The Scripture list six things which we ought to seek after more than anything else.
Without righteousness we are unworthy of the blessings of the LORD.
Godliness is a lifestyle of devotion to God, and if we are not devoted to the things of the LORD, we are going to give in to the devil's tricks easily.
This one is the theme for this page, and the twelfth verse made it clear that the fight for your faith is a good fight.
Love is a virtue but we don't truly love God if we don't love our brothers and sisters, because the Bible said: "How can we love God who we cannot see and hate our brothers and sisters who we can see?" We should search deep within our hearts and question whether or not we truly love one another.
We need not rush things, we should be patient enough to allow God to work things on His timeframe. When we pray about anything, we need to be patient with the fact that God's time is different from ours. Because they that patiently wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.
The word Meekness is a very serious word, it don't come up a lot in our everyday life, except for when we read the Bible. To be meek is to possess the power to harm, but choose to suffer humiliation rather than using your powers for evil. Jesus is our perfect example of meekness.
