Preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is a mandate for every believer.

Is preaching the gospel for me, or should I leave it to my pastor?

Is preaching the gospel for me, or should I leave it to my pastor?

Preaching the gospel is for all of us as Christians I.e.  Christ-like followers. When Jesus was about to leave the earth, He told His disciples to preach the gospel.

Mark 16:15

And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature

Jesus said this to all who were following Him at the time. Today this mandate is for all of us, once we are believers and we have a relationship with GOD.

We should never leave preaching the gospel to our pastors and our bishops only. You might not have the opportunity to preach to a congregation like your Pastor.

The truth is you don't necessarily need a congregation to share the good news of the LORD JESUS to others. This is the era of internet, smart devices and technology advancement.

You either have a smart phone, tablet, laptop or a computer. Some of us Christians have at least one of these smart devices, while some might even have them all in their houses.

What am I saying?

I am trying to tell you that you don't need a pulpit, a mic and a congregation for preaching the gospel. You can share a Scripture through WhatsApp to numerous persons at the click of a button.

You can use YouTube to minister the gospel and you can even use Facebook to share the Word of the LORD to your social community.

You might say; "I am not an internet person."

The truth is this: "you can still share the gospel."

You could share the gospel with a co-worker while on the job.

If you go to school, you could share God's Word with a classmate on your way to or from school or even at your lunch break.

You could share the gospel while in a taxi sitting beside an individual.

You could share the gospel while waiting in line or when you are topping up your car at the gas station.

These are just a few of the many ways we could go about preaching the gospel.

Romans 1:6

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of GOD unto salvation to everyone that believe, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

We should not be ashamed of preaching the gospel, because we are doing God's work. The fact that we are believers, whether we are pastors or just a brother or a sister, we should carry out the mandate to share the Word of God with the unbelievers.

We should not ignore this responsibility, and left it only for pastors and bishops. Let us play our part and tell others about the good news of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

God bless you.
