1 Corinthians 15:5
Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the LORD, forasmush as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the LORD.
Serving God is hard work, because it involves labour, it involves unmoveable faith, it involves stedfastness, it involves prayer, it involves fasting, it involves Bible Study it also require that you are totally Committed to God.
You need to serve God with all of our heart, because God does not look at the outer man, He looks at the heart. The heart is not the organ in your chest that's pumping blood around your body.
Your heart is your mind. So when God said that the heart of man is desperately wicked, He was talking about the thoughts and the evil imaginations that the devil put in your head.
You cannot be tossed this way and that in your walk with the LORD. You need to remain flatfooted in the things of GOD. Many doctrines are being taught around the world, and are failing miserably, but the doctrine of the God which created the heavens and the earth remains unshakable.
You cannot serve God and not worship God. You need to worship Him the way that the Bible requires you to worship Him, i.e. in spirit and in truth.
Psalm 96:9 said to worship God in the beauty of holiness. This means that when you stand before God to worship Him, you should do it out of a holy lifestyle because that is like a sweet aroma in His presence.
You need to serve God wholeheartedly. That takes total commitment and your ability to serve and worship Him with excellence because you cannot serve God and mammon.

You might be able to quote the Bible from cover to cover, but without faith it is impossible to please Him. God is a God of faith and if your faith is weak, your relationship with Him is going to be weak as well.
Deuteronomy 11:13 -14
And it shall come to pass, if ye shall harken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, I will give you the rain of your land in due season, the first rain and latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thy oil.
God is not slack concerning His promises as most men count slackness. Once he made you a promise you can bet your last dollar on Him fulfilling it and you wont regret it. However, we must also keep our end of the bargain, by diligently obeying the command, and serving GOD with our whole heart.
Serving God also means serving others because when you do something for others, like feeding and being kind to the homeless, God is pleased.
You should not expect to be blessed with the things that the LORD promised, and not want to do the things that the LORD asked you to do. There must be a burning desire to want to do the things of the LORD, and afterwards you can expect to be blessed.
It is very important to serve the Lord together as a family, because the family that prays together, stays together. No one would give something that is not good to there family, and since God is good, make it a priority to Put God First in your home.
1 Timothy 1:12
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.
Serving God means giving thanks unto Him for the good things He done unto us. We should not be ungrateful, because there are many goodness things that the LORD hath bestowed upon us.
One Scripture said in all things we should give thanks unto the LORD because this is the will of God, and all things are working together for the good of them who love the LORD.
Serving GOD is not a burden, you should do so with a heart full of gratitude and thanksgiving for all that the LORD has done for you.
