We have victory in Jesus because He gave His life for us so that we might be saved. The death of Jesus also signifies freedom from eternal death to everyone who believes on Him.
"But GOD raised Him from the dead, freeing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold upon Him."
GOD released Christ from the permanent grip that death wanted to bound Him with. Even though this was impossible, the devil was trying to destroy Christ with the power of death forever.
The enemy will do everything in his power to stop us and destroy us, he will come with every kind of evil to get us to stop believing in and trusting in the LORD. We can be confident and zealous in the fact that we have victory in Jesus through His death to deliver us from eternal death.
Our baptism represent Christ's burial, and it tells the world that we are no longer a part of its evil deeds. Burial signifies the end result of a thing. When we bury someone, we have no expectations of seeing them again.
When we got baptized in the baptism pool, (or river for some of us,) we declared to the world that we have buried the old man and its sinful ways. This is a testimony of victory over the oldman and its sinful deeds.
Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in newness of life.
The resurrection of Christ is a testimony of victory over hell, death and the grave. Since Christ was resurrected from the dead, we too as believers will be raised from death to meet our Savior.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believe thou this?
We have complete victory in Jesus if we believe in His teachings and are obedient to His commands. He is the resurrection and the life, He is the only one who can raise us from the dead, and save us from eternal damnation. If we are going be victorious and overcome this world and its iniquity, we need to surrender completely to GOD.
God bless you.
