The wages of sin is not an instant physical death.

Wages of sin.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When we sin against GOD, we are not only doing Him injustice, we are also doing ourselves injustice. We are destroying both our physical and spiritual man.

When I read this Scripture, I understand it this way: If you are a sinner, living outside of the will of GOD, you are going to experience eternal damnation. However, if you are in the will of GOD, daily living to please Him, you will receive the free gift of eternal life.

The phrase "wages of sin" typifies  not only what will happen when we are dead but what is happening now while we are yet alive.

Sin destroys our peace.

Isaiah 26:3

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

GOD promises in this Scripture to keep us in perfect peace if we put our trust in Him alone. GOD will work things out in the favour of these who love Him.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Sinning against GOD means putting something else in the place of GOD.  Whether your cars, houses or your money. Once these things gets your attention more than GOD, they become your idol and your god.

When we make ourselves more important than GOD, we automatically allow a spiritual strain in our lives and the peace of GOD departs from us.

Your success will come to an end, your money will run out and even your relationships may fail. But when you put GOD first, and stop sinning against Him, and trust Him completely, you will not lack any good thing.

Sin causes disorder and uncertainty.

Psalm 31:9-10

Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

The sin that David committed was very great, and he did received its wages,--disorder and uncertainty. These were his words of regrets: "I  am in distress, my eye is wasted, my life is spent, sighing, strength fails, bones waste away-- all because of sin."

God is calling everyone who have sinned, He wants you to know that there is a way out of your torment of pain, uncertainty and disorder.

You need to repent of your sins, get baptized in His name, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and be steadfast in His will.

When we submit ourselves to the will of GOD and study His Word for wisdom and understanding, we are preparing ourselves for forgiveness  and the gift of eternal life.

God bless you
